Terms of use

Last updated: 26 September 2026

1. What this site is

Pictavera is a free, non-commercial art gallery run as a private hobby. It shows paintings by artists of the past and present and lets living artists present their own work. There is no advertising and nothing is sold through the site.

2. Your account

You can browse without an account. To keep favorites, write comments or upload paintings you need one. Keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for what is done with your account.

3. What you upload and write

• Upload only works you created yourself or have the right to publish.
• No illegal, offensive, hateful or pornographic content, no advertising and no spam.
• You keep all rights to your works. By uploading, you allow the site to show them, including smaller copies and translated descriptions.

4. Moderation

New paintings and first comments are checked before they appear. We may refuse, hide or remove any content or account that breaks these rules, without notice.

5. Buying and selling

Artists may offer a painting for sale and show a price and contact details. The site only shows the work: any sale is agreed directly between buyer and artist. The site is not a party to it and gives no guarantee for the work, the price or the people involved.

6. Works of other artists

The works shown belong to their authors or rights holders; many older works are in the public domain. If you hold the rights to an image and want it removed, write to us and we will take it down promptly.

7. No warranty

The site is provided free of charge and “as is”. We do our best to keep it working and accurate, but we cannot guarantee that it is always available or free of errors.

8. Changes and applicable law

These terms may change; the date above shows the current version. The law of the Republic of Bulgaria applies. Questions: use “Contact us” at the bottom of every page. See also the privacy policy.
